The Master's Program in Evolutionary Ecology provides a comprehensive understanding of the ecology, evolution, and diversity of organisms. This multidisciplinary program combines knowledge of biology, ecology, and evolutionary biology, covering topics such as systematics, life-history strategies, and the impact of environmental changes. The second year centers on a research project culminating in a thesis, preparing students for future research or applied work in the field.
This program equips graduates for careers as researchers, educators, decision-makers, and consultants in the field of evolutionary ecology and related disciplines. The skills acquired prepare students for further academic pursuits or practical applications in ecological management, conservation, and education.
In Kalmar centre, right next to the sea, you will find the university’s facilities that were inaugurated in August 2021. In Kalmar, everything is nearby, and you can take your bicycle to the university regardless of where you live in the city. New students have housing guarantee, meaning that you are entitled to student accommodation within two months. This has contributed to Kalmar being appointed Student City of the Year 2023 by the Swedish National Union of Students.
